Welcome to Our Blog
February 27, 2009Firstly, thank you for visiting our brand new website and for your interest in UPR. We hope you have found the website helpful and clear. If you have any questions about us or would like to talk about a specific project, please call or email us at any time.
This section of the website, our Blog, is something we are very excited about. It gives us an opportunity to share insights, news, progress and photos that are relevant at a given period of time. This being the first blog entry, I'd like to take the opportunity to outline a little bit of what we plan to share here.
As a quick preface, we believe that there are three primary, umbrella-type principles that constitute a solid company: quality, service and value. These core principles and their many comprising aspects are best and most clearly displayed through actions-i.e. they are not blog-worthy (and, quite honestly, can be boring to hear about over and over again).
However, we also believe that there are an additional four areas of expertise above and beyond those associated with the core principles that launch a company from being solid to being solid and sophisticated. These areas are markets, current events (locally, nationally and world wide), finance and a general, thriving pursuit of higher knowledge and understanding of our industry. Now this is blog-worthy content. Much of what we will share here will be coming directly from various sources we read regularly and/or organizations with which we are involved. Some examples of these are as follows:
Charleston Market Report, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce (Publications and Council Meetings), National Association of Home Builders (Publications and Meetings), Urban Land Institute (Publications, Meetings, Webinars, Seminars, etc.), Post and Courier, Wall Street Journal, Certified Commercial Investment Manager or CCIM (primarily course related information), National Trust for Historic Preservation, Carter Real Estate Center, Remodeling Magazine and privately commissioned market studies.
From this vast network of resources, we will provide-without inane amounts of detail-everything from renovation and real estate trends to pertinent current event stories. Basically, anything we find interesting or think a client might be able to benefit from, we'll post it.
In addition, we think it will be fun to post other company related items such as progress photos, publications and the like. We are looking forward to getting started and hope you enjoy what comes next!
